Welcome

Welcome to the RCEME Museum. Come discover the story of the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME)—the service members who provide the technical skills necessary to maintain land equipment for Canadian Armed Forces operations worldwide.

The RCEME museum highlights the services these soldiers have provided from the First World War through the Cold War, UN Operations and Afghanistan. Throughout the museum, you’ll find an exciting array of objects and memorabilia including photographs, models, medals, uniforms, kit and equipment, and other items that illustrate the lives and experiences of RCEME craftsmen who have served around the world.

BGen Brewer: RCEME Leader and Trailblazer

The late BGen Bill Brewer will be recognized as a RCEME Leader and Trailblazer in a ceremony at the RCEME Museum in Kingston at 1330 on 15 May 2025, in conjunction with RCEME Day celebrations in Kingston.

BGen Brewer was an incredible RCEME leader and a trailblazer for the RCEME Corps. He is unique among senior RCEME Corps leaders in that he was instrumental in the success of the five entities that represent the RCEME Corps and RCEME Heritage: as DGLEPM he chaired the Corps Council; as Col Commandant he acted as Heritage Program Vice Chair and as RCEME Guild Vice Chair; and later he led the creation of the RCEME Foundation. The breadth, depth and duration of his involvement in RCEME have had an incredible impact on DND, CAF and RCEME institutions, as well RCEME esprit de corps.

BGen Brewer was also highly regarded and respected as an institutional leader during his time in the Canadian Armed Forces and since his retirement. As well as his efforts to establish the RCEME Foundation and help to further the RCEME Museum, Bill was awarded the Order of St John, and also invested in the Order of Military Merit. His outgoing, positive manner and engaging, friendly personality were evident in every aspect of his life.

Along with Bill’s family and friends, members of the RCEME Community and other CAF leaders, let’s all celebrate Bill Brewer’s legacy as he is recognized as a RCEME Leader and Trailblazer.

Anyone in the Kingston area wishing to attend the Investment Ceremony should contact Dwayne Atkinson at the RCEME Museum (dwayne.atkinson@gmail.com).
